Trach or Ventilator Dependent

Any person on a ventilator needs clothing that is non-constrictive. Clothing needs to be styled to provide easy access to the neck and chest area. Clothing should be loose fitting around the neckline. Care should be taken that the neckline be large enough to not constrict or be obstructive.

For females a V-Neck opening in the front of dresses, dusters or nightgowns can be comfortably worn. Back Snap clothing are a good choice in that it allows the top snap to remain open if necessary.

Males can do well with V-neck undershirts, T-shirts, nightshirts or back-snap tops. Again any style clothing with back snaps allows the clothing to be adjusted as loose as needed.

Bibs may also help keep clothing dry and reduce the need for frequent clothing changes.
