I have Muscular Dystrophy (SMA II) and use a power wheelchair. I have limited hand strength. I cannot wear gloves because, with them on, I cannot drive my chair. I bought this poncho with the express hope that it would protect my driving-hand while still allowing me to drive. It is perfect for this use, with one exception; it's too heavy. It covers my hand perfectly but weighs my hand down so that I cannot move my joystick. I am working on a way to keep it raised off of my hand...some sort of frame over the joystick box, I think.
All of that being said, the poncho is very well constructed and feels like it could easily keep me warm during Atlanta's coldest weather and winds. It is so nice that I am determined to solve my only issue with it. I would recommend it to anyone who does not have limited movement or strength in their arms or hands, or if mobility while wearing the poncho is not a factor.
